#2010was ... A+! :)

Hello everyone! I hope you guys are in good condition as you celebrate Christmas and greet the new coming year with a blast! I’m back writing (well, I’ve always loved writing... but, this time, it’s more serious. Aye.)

2010 has been a roller-coaster-ride year for me. Ups and Downs. Victory and Defeat. Joy and Sadness. Friendship. Love. Hate. Attitude Problems. Blessings. Trials. Opportunities. This year has made me laugh, cry, hope and endure – in all areas of my life. And for that, I’m writing down all these things I learnt this year.

I feel like I’ve been born again and the three kings have just arrived across my world offering their precious gifts. Let me share you these wonderful gifts.

ATTITUDE. This is the first gift I learn as I go along this 2010. To me, proper disposition counts a lot, particularly when dealing with other people. It is what other people see in you – a mirror that reflects your true self. It doesn’t really matter if you’re intelligent or not, rich or poor or whatever religious group you’re in, what matters is your character that makes people realize how worthy you are, not just of praises but also blessings from above. Great attitude transcends culture, race or gender. Gay or lesbian, Asian or Western, it doesn’t matter. It is how you mingle with people around you without hurting them or stooping down on them – but by building bridges everywhere with everyone.

The second gift I received is PERSEVERANCE. Whatever struggles you’re going through, as long as you stay steadfast, you’ll make it to the end. I admit I easily give up when troubles come my way; however, I’ve always kept the faith. When matters get worse, I always kneel down and pray. I trust Him that He will let His Hands cast away all the trials I encounter – and then I go on persevering. I chose Education not only because I see my potential in this profession but also teaching is my passion. My heart is into it. And I tell you my friend, as long as you love what you’re doing – no matter how many bumped roads you meet – and you have your persevering spirit with you, there’ll be no reason for you no to succeed.

A GOLDEN HEART. This is the last present I acquire this year. By golden heart I mean a show of love, care, forgiveness and kindheartedness. I have been through a lot of difficulties – personal, social, emotional and spiritual it may be. Personality-wise, golden heart is through showing your love to everyone – no matter how rude some people may be. It makes life lovelier when everyone offers each other’s love. Socially, I mean golden heart by forgiveness. Whatever fight you have with your fellow, vengeance is never an option – but forgiveness. Bear in mind that the misunderstanding you have is just a product of the conflict of each of your ideas, beliefs or principles – because in the end you’ll see that when you forgive, you also learn to accept. By far, the most important lesson I gain this year is to have a golden heart. It’s hard when you always carry big baggage in your heart. But when your heart’s golden, life goes on towards a brighter path. Life is short and miserable when you’re feeling bitter and angry. But, with a golden heart, life is short… yet meaningful.

This year, 2010, has taught me to love, to wish, to cope and to act like a matured individual. My journey this year has molded me into a strong, responsible, and a fully-grown Mark Anthony Orpiano. And now that this year s about to end, it still continues to remind me not to be hopeless for another year to come. Instead, it encourages me to look forward to a more optimistic and more fruitful 2011.

Surely, these gifts I will always cherish as I walk along the roads of life.

Boys' Love Poem: "I borrowed him like a book..."

All by myself I’m strolling down towards a room
A bookful place of silence and gloom;
All I wanted is someone to be with me.
Not just to study, but to love and cherish dearly.

I was just writing trivial notes,
When I met those eyes, as if telling anecdotes.
The way he smiled made me want to stay longer
And so I continued writing… a hopeful love story.

It’s like his heart and mine were already one.
In every seat, in every page of my paperm, he hadn’t gone.
It’s a feeling out of the ordinary,
For he is who he is and I’m not who I am.

Amidst the orchestra, he’s the singer; I’m the writer
But I knew we could really never be together.
I am who he is; he’s not who I am
He’s real, unmasked and I’m an awful sham.

His eyes sparkled me words of heroic knights.
Though we sat apart, I felt his body next to mine
Time’s fleeting; he’d leave me behind time
Oh, how I wish we’re always putting things in lines and rhymes…

Then his maiden came from behind the shelves
His graceful Galatea; staring at their own selves
I thought his eyes were only for me.
It’s so painful; I parked my pen sadly.

I sighed. I breathed. I was about to cry
I just grinned ‘coz I waited for something I could never have
I looked at him, that’s all I wanted to do
It’s happier than just sitting there alone and blue…

Now this story’s hopeless so I closed my notebook.
How my heart longed for his caring look.
I could never treasure this moment all my life
For he reminded me of the mask
I’ve always wanted to hide.

The Sea, the Sky and the Sunset...

(A diary of a forbidden love...)

As he wandered through the waves of the sea,
Was a wonderful feeling he longed to be…
They splattered, crashed within his heart
He’s left alone, not knowing where to start.

She danced. She cherished all his bluebells up,
She sang so her voice could reach the skies above.
He smiled with his birds all chirping
He blew her his kiss, so gentle yet breath-taking.

It’s a wonder when both worlds apart
Loved each other’s soul and heart;
The clouds so proud; the waves so might,
Together it carpentered one glorious life.

Her ridge of current was an unalterable love;
His nimbus chambers were serene, pure as dove.
It seemed so near yet very far.
She wept in still waters, while he cried all the dead stars.

How he wish he could be her armor forever
Her shield amidst the storms that shattered;
He always hoped he could be by her side for better
But every splash, every breath was a promise of NEVER.

How she longed to be his one and only princess
The one he dreamt about every minute, every second
But his dashing breeze told it wasn’t so right
To love someone like him, and it cut like a knife.

Who says you can’t have the best of both worlds?
A love that was enduring, genuine despite the scars and wounds.
A thwarted romance that survived the test of time…
And a long-lasting love of all the ladies and knights.

“My love for you will never run dry...”
He replied, “My love, you’ll always be my stars in every night.”
Now, I rested with shadows; and sure, for the rest of their lives,
They’ll always be that inseparable bond that never dies.

EPILOGUE

To all my fellow Plpians who had suffered from anguish brought by catastrophes months ago… to all the members of the Faculty who had risked their lives in unforgettable, traumatic experiences… and to all who had become heroes during those times of need… this one’s for you. Bear in mind that no matter how ruinous the storm is, there’s always a rainbow waiting…

With all the distress and enduring times.
That caused destruction and brought troubled hearts.
Ang when the thunderstorms enfold the sunshine.
That made us hopeless, and broke every homes apart.
Every child was deprived, his dreams were shattered.
We were so much stricken that the burden seemed endless.
Voices of help, tears had spattered.
Yet the chaos remained, appering so boundless.

Now the storm is over.
Wreckage had been done.
And the vine has been waiting.
For the ensuring sun.
Rebuilding refige, uplifting lives.
Like occupied bees recasting their beehives.

Surely there’s always a rainbow after a rain.
A light full of promising colors everywhere.
A new door of hope, after all the pain.
A new path of beginning, a future that’s better.

There’s a blue sky after all that we’ve been through.
A new badge of dreams and novel aspirations.
Never lose faith, God is there for you,
To guide you, ‘till tomorrow conquers its tribulations.

"Unalloyed Beginning"

I’m wandering lonely in a plaited labyrinth
My steps are careful, slow but apprehended.
Each morning greets me with blissful sun shines
And nights grant me with fruitful twilights.
I’m making my way and then I met you —
In a short distance, I stopped and babbled.
I know this is the start of something new,
in my journey to the ladder of real world.
You make me smile every time I face the dawn.
You’re like a guiding light — right paths are shown.
I stumble, I stand up and I see your face,
I try and I succeed, I’ve always wanted you to embrace.
How will I reach you? You’re now traveling far,
If only I could run, to get that brightest star.
I’m still in a maze; you’re now at the end,
You’ll never wait for me, that’s all I comprehend.
Your footsteps will always be my motivation,
to reach my goal and go beyond my destination.
This bewilderment I know I’ll overcome,
Whenever I’m down, I’m certain you’ll come.
I’m sure one day I’ll be crossing your way,
‘cause in your soulful, I’ve always hoped to stay.

"Gallantry Endowed"

Amidst my life’s halcyon days
And momentous times that crossed my way;
Little by little, the clear blue skies
Started to vanish taking my delight.
Now I found myself strolling down the humped road
Hoping someone will help and carry my load.
I’m tired and I’m looking for a spring of water,
My clothes were torn apart, I needed a shelter.
I’m sad an hopeless and those cold nights
Reminded me of life’s fright and deceit.
Those prosperous days were now just a bygone
But I know it’ll be brought back by a helpful talisman.
Life is unknown and ironic.
It has given me awe and panic.
Some things were really not mean to be,
And didn’t work out the way I wanted it to be.
I just have to kneel down and pray
So as not to stumble in a flooding hay,
Disgorge my perplexities and stand up high
Like a phoenix rising from its funeral pile.
I have now the strength, afraid no more…
Ready for the battle, guided by the Greatest Armor..

Much Ado About Mark Anthony! :)

I like people who are … loyal and reliable, have sense of humor and a good listener.

I can’t live without …. LOVE!

If I had a million, I would …. travel around the world.

WRITING ….. makes me feel good.

The last time I laughed a lot … was on EDUC tour!

I’d like to have …. A good health. :)

If I could be granted those wishes, they could be….. 25 hours a day, 8 days a week and 13 months a year, so that I could spend longer time with my loved ones. :)

If I could change one thing about myself, it would be …. My negative thinking.

My greatest fear …. Losing my loved ones.

What I value most in life ….. love —- for GOD, family and friends and for myself.

If I were to write a book, it would be about …. Falling in love!

My advice to the young like me … life is short! So cherish your loved ones. Laugh. Cry. Be crazy.

Words I live by …. LIFE is a GOAL. REACH it. :)

Some things I like to do well ….. writing a “how-to” book.

Some things that interest me … myth books, anything! About LIFE.

Some things I would like to know …. Speaking French, using chopsticks, haha.

Some things I think that are great …. Getting married?? Hehe. Achieving your dreams. Knowing GOD.

Some things that I don’t like much … being alone.

Happiest Moment …. Many to mention. Graduation, High School Days..

Weirdest thing ever done …. I puked when we’re on a camp. Ugh!

Wildest thing ever lingered in my mind …… having s*x with my hunky prof! xD

People would be interested to know that … I’m a hopeless romantic!

Funniest moment …. Bonding with my friends.

Biggest dream in life … to be a call-center agent and a writer. :))

"Boundless Hope..."

It's a gentle breeze everytime I hear your voice,
It's a voice of triumph towering amidst the noise.
and from afar, amongst the million people,
is a silent birch, afraid to be struck and stumble.
You sing victoriously and you replenish its roots,
that soulful timbre enticing its roots.
Its branches has become more slender
with your voice inviting altogether.
Somehow I wish I'd see you face to face
and hear your voice, turning gloom into daze.
Somehow I wish I'd be singing with you,
Smiling at me, telling I wouldn't be forever blue.
I'm always there; you have my unwavering support.
from the crowd within, beyond all their efforts.
You seem so near yet so far away,
You're my distant dream I hope I'll attain someday...
Now I know I'm just one in a million,
It would be so impossible for you to hear my summon.
I'd be lucky if one day, you're here in front of me,
among so many stars, sparkling so brightly.
You will always linger in my mind and in my heart,
though you're staying never, from the very start
